Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) consultation published

Today, we have published the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) consultation.

The IETF has £315 million to help businesses with high energy use to cut their energy bills and carbon emissions. The consultation has been produced following extensive engagement with industry. It sets out our preferred design choices for the Fund and we are now inviting stakeholders to comment.

We very much welcome your feedback and input into designing the IETF. For more information on the consultation, please go to –

IETF consultation events

The consultation period will run for six weeks from today until Thursday 21 November. During this period, we will be running six stakeholder engagement events across the UK.

The events will explain more about the consultation, the proposed design of the Fund and our plans for its delivery over the next five years. It will be an opportunity to ask questions and give us feedback to ensure the IETF’s final design supports UK industry, while meeting the Government’s Net Zero carbon emissions target in 2050.

The six events are taking place in the morning at:

• London – 22 October
• Cardiff – 24 October
• Middlesbrough – 30 October
• Manchester – 31 October
• Glasgow – 6 November
• Belfast – 7 November

The events will host up to 30 stakeholders and will be managed on a first come, first served basis. To book your place at one of the events, please send an email to IETF@beis.gov.uk

In the subject line of the email, please state ‘IETF Consultation event – (Location)’ and then in the copy, explain how many places are being booked and list names. More information on the event locations and timings will be provided in the joining instructions, which will be sent out soon.
