Water
Water costs for business users have risen steeply over recent years These need to be addressed to ensure unnecessary charges are avoided and future increases planned for. The MEUC’s Water Group is actively involved in providing help and advice on reducing water consumption and avoiding excess charges for Member organisations.
We meet with Ministers, regulators and suppliers to ensure our members’ concerns are heard and report back to members on their latest thinking and initiatives.
We worked with the Water Industry Commission for Scotland (WICS) staging fully subscribed seminars prior to the introduction of water competition in that country. There are now proposals to introduce greater competition south of the border in England and Wales.
